The reason why I don’t like Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley) on Glee is because I rarely like belters.  On my standards, belting is not real singing.  I remember this episode when Jessie St. James (Jonathan Groff) commented that she is too lazy to practice singing. Though I find it very unfair to judge Mercedes, being a belter somehow gives that kind of impression to most people because it is kinda easy to belt than do quality singing. That is why I’m so glad that on season 3, Mercedes is getting more songs with toned down arrangements and making use of her pretty voice not just for shouting. BTW I like her “I will Always Love You”.  RIP Whitney.
